This long parka coat is made in Japan and produced by Buzz Rickson from Toyo Enterprises. The Buzz Rickson label, a division of Toyo Enterprise in Japan, is famous around the world for its expertly-crafted authentic military clothing. This long coat pays homage to the iconic WW2 M-42 reversible parka used by US army mountain troops with exacting details. The pattern construction of this long parka coat is a reproduction of the the "Overcoat, Parka Type, Reversible" dated 1942. This M42 military hooded coat features a full length (offering full body protection from the head to below the knees), reversible (one side of the parka is olive-drab and the other is snow-white for use in snowy conditions) made from two-ply of lightweight cotton poplin, zipper closure with a storm flap, adjustable waist belt to adjust the fit, and the snap buttons on bottom hems and the hood both for adjusting the size. This product is US/EU size. And this is cut to wear as a over-sized fit. This parka is a type of overcoat intended to be worn as the outermost garment. This coat is sized like the originals to allow bulky layers to be worn underneath and and allow a full range of motion so this is over sized. Oversized fit, but please choose your normal size and use the belt at the waist to adjust the fit (The model in the image is wearing the parka fitted using the adjuster belt at the waist. Please do not pull the belt too hard as this may cause damage. The buckle is a push-in fastening type. Please note that the paint on the buckles will peel with use). Outer shell and lining shell : This coat is made of two layers of lightweight cotton poplin fabric. It is high density and extremely durable. It combines the toughness and the natural softness for comfort. This parka is reversible. One side of the parka is olive-drab and the other is snow-white for use in snowy conditions. Overall, it's a lightweighter fabric, great for wearing mid-season or even in the winter with under layering.

Types of garment closure (Placket type) : A zipper closed the front (partial zip from collar to waist) with a button flap over it. Front fastener manufactured by Talon. The zipper is covered with a storm flap that fastens with buttons across the zipper. This design protects the wind from slipping through the front. And the buttons runs up to the hood collar to provide added protection to the lower part of the face.

Storage : The jacket has four exterior pockets. Two slanted hand-warmer pockets above the web-belted waist and two large cargo pockets with falap below the web-belted waist. No pockets on the snow-white side.

Cuff type : Button tab cuff.

Hood style : A non-removable hood with draw string. Fixed hood with adjustable draw cord that forms part of the outer shell. A drawstring (drawcord) with cord stopper passes through the hood, allowing the aperture size to be adjusted. The hood has snaps that can be used to adjust the size.

Pattern Type : Plain (Solid color).

Sleeve Style : Set-in sleeves.

Sleeve Length : Long sleeves.

Other details : The bottom hems of front and rear have snaps that can fasten at the front and rear of the hem to help seal out the cold. Adjustable cotton belt to adjust the fit on the waist. *The original M-42 had a liner, but liner is not included in this product.
